To Tape or Not to Tape
Q: What is the best type of tape to use on the edges of a needlepoint canvas?
A: If you use tape, a white paper tape is best. Adhesive tape leaves a sticky residue, so make sure you don't leave any adhesive edges showing that can attract dust, dirt, etc. Perhaps the best way to secure the edges of canvas - stitch them. Turn edges of canvas under about 1/4-inch and stitch on your sewing machine. This prevents any unraveling and eliminates the negatives of adhesive residue left from the tape.
